  Paper blasted over footie report
Updated 30 March 2004, 14.11
Footballers
A newspaper is in trouble with a kids' footie league after it reported that a team got beat 29-0.

The Sheffield and District Junior Sunday League says it's against its rules to report on any scores over 14 goals, so that kids don't feel ashamed.

The Derbyshire Times says it did not know about the 14-goal limit. Its report described the match result as a "comprehensive trouncing".

The editor said many parents supported his decision to publish the result.

'Mis-matching'

"If teams lose 29-0 and the league doesn't want it reporting, then perhaps you should look at whether they are guilty of mis-matching," he added.

The league's own website did not publish details of the victory.
