Leeds United sack boss Peter Reid
Updated 10 November 2003, 16.31
Peter Reid has been sacked as Leeds United boss
Leeds United have sacked their manager Peter Reid, the club have confirmed.

The Elland Road outfit are bottom of the league, 78m in debt and have lost their last five matches.

Reid took over at the end of last season, and with him in charge they narrowly avoided relegation, but this year they are in trouble again.

Leeds' financial problems means they have had to sell lots of their best players, and Reid hasn't been able to get those left playing well enough.

The Nottingham Forest manager - and former Leeds youth team boss - Paul Hart is thought to be the man Leeds want to replace Reid.

Reid's sacking won't be made public until Tuesday morning when the club tells financial experts at the stock exchange about it.
