It was a tense four-set victory over last year's runner-up and the crowd were going so wild they had to be told to keep quiet.
Henman played superbly to win the first set 6-2 and was a break up in the second before the Argentinian hit back to win the tie-break 7-4.
Both continued to struggle on their own serve but the British number one raised his game to win the fourth 6-3.
It's the seventh time in eight years Henman's reached the quarter finals.
