Cricket goes cool with new Twenty20 game
Updated 13 June 2003, 15.25
Twenty20 cricket will be faster
Cricket has got a face-lift with the new Twenty20 game.

Matches will only have 20 overs and it's supposed to make cricket faster and more fun to watch.

And it kicks off on 13 June at The Rose Bowl when Hampshire take on Sussex.

Mis-Teeq

Cricket bosses want to attract loads of new fans to the game with Twenty20 - particularly more kids and women.

It's mainly watched by older men at the moment, but the bosses want to give it a cooler image.

Cricket experts reckon this is the biggest change to happen in the sport since one-day events were brought in 40 years ago.

Stars like Mis-Teeq, Atomic Kitten and D-side have been roped in to help launch Twenty20 cricket, and they'll be performing at matches around the country.

There's also cheerleaders, funfairs and entertainment at most of the matches, to help attract kids and families.
