The England team celebrate winning with fifth Test
Final Ashes Test, Sydney. England 362 & 452-9d; Australia 363 & 226
England win by 225 runs

England have claimed a rare win over Australia and held off an embarrassing 5-0 Ashes defeat.

The Aussies had to endure their first home Test defeat in four years as England clocked up a 225-run triumph.

This means the Ashes series ends 4-1.

England bowler Andy Caddick took advantage of the poor conditions at Sydney Cricket Ground and finished with seven for 94.

Important strikes from Richard Dawson and Steve Harmison helped signal defeat of the home side before lunch.
