  Australia's Thorpedo on course for 7 golds

Ian Thorpe, the Australian swimmer with the massive feet, has won his fifth gold medal of the Commonwealth Games.

Ian - nicknamed Thorpedo - won the 100m freestyle final easily and broke the Games record too in 48.73 seconds.

He led the race from the start and was never really challenged.

The 19-year-old is now well on course to reach his goal of winning seven golds.

Meanwhile, Australia's Petria Thomas won gold in the 100m butterfly, making her the first woman to win the same event three Games in a row.

The home nations' swimmers didn't have a bad night either.

England's Rebecca Cooke won the tough 800m freestyle final by a long way.

Scotland's Alison Sheppard looked brilliant as she reached the final of her 50m freestyle, shattering the Games record in the process.

And England's James Gibson set a new Games record of 27.56 seconds in his 50m backstroke to reach the final.
