  Beckham signs new deal with United

David Beckham
England captain David Beckham has finally signed a new deal with Manchester United which will make him the world's highest-paid footballer.

The midfielder's agreed a three-year contract worth about 90,000-a-week after a year of negotiations with the Old Trafford club.

Zinedine Zidane is currently the world's highest-paid player
French star Zinedine Zidane is currently football's top earner.

But Beckham gets so much from endorsements he's set to overtake him.

The increase should take Beckham's total earnings to around 11m a year.

He'll stay at United till June 2005.

Becks said: "Not a day passes when I don't feel privileged and lucky to be part of such a fantastic club."
