Second Test, Wellington, day three (stumps): New Zealand 70-1 v England 280 all out
England's fielders were frustrated by New Zealand's batsmen who reached 70 for one in reply to England's first innings 280 at the end of the third day of play.
But the day was completely overshadowed by the death of England cricketer Ben Hollioake, who was killed in a car crash in Australia on Saturday morning.
Flags were flown at half-mast at the grounds in Wellington, and players on both sides wore black arm bands in memory of him.
'It's difficult to play'
Captain Nasser Hussain
Things started off well for England when captain Nasser Hussain struck his 20th Test fifty just before lunch, but shortly afterwards he was given out caught off the glove, and was the first of five wickets to fall for 29 in 60 balls.
England then missed two possible chances in the evening session.
But Nasser Hussain said the match had lost importance after Ben Hollioake's death. He said: "This puts everything else into perspective. It's very difficult to play and the cricket is irrelevant. We have lost a friend."
