  Arsenal get revenge on Liverpool
Updated 27 January 2002, 18.42
Dennis Bergkamp scores for Arsenal against Liverpool
Arsenal 1-0 Liverpool

A headed goal from Dennis Bergkamp saw Arsenal win at Highbury.

The Dutchman scored the only goal of the match after 26 minutes, aided by Thierry Henry and Giovanni Van Bronckhorst.

The victory allowed the Gunners to get revenge on Liverpool, for defeating them in the FA Cup final last year.

But Bergkamp was later sent off, along with Liverpool's Jamie Carragher, after an incident on the pitch where it looked like an object was thrown from the crowd, and Carragher threw it back.

Arsenal's Martin Keown was also sent off for a foul on Michael Owen in the second half.
