The Saints go marching out of the FA Cup
Updated 16 January 2002, 22.28

Rotherham Utd 2-1 Southampton
First Division Rotherham produced one of the surprises of the FA Cup third round by knocking out Premiership Southampton.

Two goals by Richard Barker and John Mullin took them through to a fourth round tie against Crewe.

Even a 70th minute penalty for Southampton wasn't enough to save the Saints.

Coventry City 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur
Goals from Gustavo Poyet and Les Ferdinand ensured Spurs cruised through their FA Cup tie at Coventry.

Coventry lacked confidence after a poor run that's seen them lose five of their previous seven games.

Chelsea 4-0 Norwich (replay)
A class goal by Zola helped Chelsea to a comfortable victory in their replay against Norwich.

He flicked Graeme Le Saux's corner into the net in the 63rd minute.

Norwich fought bravely but never really troubled the Blues.

Stockport 1-4 Bolton Wanderers
Bolton will play Tottenham in the fourth round of the FA Cup after cruising to victory.

Carlton Palmer's Stockport have now lost 11 straight games.

Blackburn Rovers 3-1 Barnsley (replay)
Blackburn had little difficulty overcoming Barnsley despite fielding an under-strength side.

Corrado Grabbi put Rovers ahead after half an hour with a sharp finish from near the penalty spot, and skipper David Dunn doubled the lead on the stroke of half time with a penalty.

When Nils-Eric Johansson headed a third three minutes after the break, the match was effectively over.
