Marlet's late goal breaks Wycombe hearts
Updated 08 January 2002, 22.10

Wycombe Wanderers 2-2 Fulham
Wycombe Wanderers, who reached the semi finals of the FA Cup last season, were minutes from another cup shock.

Jermaine McSporran looked to have won the tie for Wanderers as they came back from a goal down to take the lead against Fulham.

But Steve Marlet struck late for the Premiership side to save their blushes and earn a replay at Craven Cottage.

Sylvain Legwinski had opened the scoring for Fulham before a penalty from Steve Brown and a goal from McSporran gave Wycombe the lead.

They looked like celebrating another famous win before Marlet found the net with only two minutes left.

Wimbledon 0-0 Middlesbrough
Both sides will have to wait a little longer to determine who will meet Manchester United in round four of the FA Cup.

Neither side could break the deadlock, although Middlesbrough almost won the match when Gianluca Festa hit the post.

Walsall 2-0 Bradford City
Goals from Tom Bennett and Brett Angell sent Walsall into round four and a clash with Premiership Charlton Athletic at The Valley.

Southend United 1-3 Tranmere Rovers
Tranmere will face the conquerers of Leeds United, Cardiff City, in the fourth round after victory at Southend.

The game was goalless until the second half when Wayne Allison scored for Rovers.

Jason Price added a second for the away side, before Barrington Belgrave scored to bring Southend back into the game.

But Sean Flynn sealed the win for Tranmere with 10 minutes left to book a place in the next round.
