Wigan 0-1 Canvey Island
FA Cup action on Saturday saw an upset for Wigan who were sent out of the Cup by part-timers Canvey Island.
To add to their misery, Wigan had two players sent off.
The winning strike came from Neil Gregory in a volley sent into the back of the net with two minutes to go.
Wigan's defeat comes after their 6-1 win over Stoke City earlier in the week.
Tony Dinning, Wigan's signing from Wolves, was the first to take an early bath after aiming a kick directly at Gregory in the 42nd minute.
Lee Ashcroft followed him nine minutes from the end of the game for a second bookable offence.
Canvey Island are unbeaten for 17 matches and are top of the Ryman Premier League. And with keepers like Ashley Harrison who made a great double save, Canvey have a good chance of progressing well in the cup.
