  New look for Newsround website
Updated 08 November 2004, 18.19
Page from new site
The Newsround website is about to undergo some big changes. Editor Tim Masters explains what's happening.

It's been three years since the Newsround website had a facelift.

For the past few months we've been working on a new look and we are ready to launch it from Tuesday.

The site will look different, but all your favourite sections - like games, votes and quizzes - are still there.

We hope it'll be a pleasant surprise.

New colour

The first thing you'll notice is that the pages have changed colour - and stories are written in yellow.

Among the new features are a ticker at the top of the front page where we can publish your e-mails and texts.

It'll also feature the best posts from the message boards.

Our story pages are wider, which makes them easier to read, as you don't have to scroll down the page.

We've also put in quick links to our guides, specials and reviews sections - so you can find the things you want more easily.

Our Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings sections not only have a new look, but a new address - so don't forget to update your bookmarks!

Old and new

In The Team section there are new pictures, new facts and new quizzes about all the presenters.

It's been a huge job to change a site of this size, and it may take a couple of days for all the different sections to settle down.

Most stories and features written before this week will keep the old look.

We really want to know what you think about the new site. On Tuesday we'll be asking for your comments.

We hope you like it as much as we do.
