The Mobile Data Association (MDA) says that's a new record for the most texts sent in a single month.
It's the sixth month in a row that more than 2bn texts have been sent, and the number sent in June jumped 28% compared to the year before.
Mobile experts reckon people texting from big events like the Glastonbury Festival are a big part of the rise.
However Euro 2004 didn't boost texting as much as expected, probably because England went out in the quarter-finals.
Since texts were first counted in 1999 the number sent has gone up every year, as more people have bought mobiles.
Last year, a massive 20.5bn texts were sent over the four main mobile networks.
