Before he went solo Ian was the lead singer with a band called the Stone Roses who were realy cool in the 90s.
Ian also played a small part in the last Harry Potter film and music fan Daniel quizzed him all about his past.
Ian told the Daily Mirror newspaper that Daniel "is a great kid who loves his music and that's why I put him on the sleeve notes."
"I loved the Harry Potter thing. I got to be a movie star for a day. They gave me my own trailer and everything."
Daniel is currently working on the fourth Potter film in the series, the Goblet of Fire.
