It's thought the football-sized egg might be 65 million years old. It's been sent to dino experts for tests to work out its correct age.
The egg might be that of the Rajasaurus Narmadensis - a reptile which is known to have once walked the area.
The dinosaur was named after the Narmada river, which flows through the state of Gujarat.
"There was work going on and one of our workers found something resembling a dinosaur egg," said the boss of the road workers.
"He came to me and I took the egg to a collector. It looks like a dinosaur egg and has been preserved."
