  'Think twice' when talking online
Updated 08 January 2004, 07.52
Children on net
Think twice about who you are talking to online - that's the message the Government is putting across in a new 700,000 internet safety campaign.

Children will be warned about the dangers of using chatrooms in radio, cinema and online advertisements.

It follows several cases where adults took on false identities in order to meet up with kids and abuse them.

"We want to make sure that children are aware that people are not always who they say they are," said a minister.

A leaflet warning parents about the dangers of the internet has also been updated for the campaign.

Website

A website called "thinkuknow" has also been set up and you can link to it from this page.

The campaign is the third part of a 3 million Government project to protect young internet-users, which started in December 2001.
