Now scientists say more and more kids under five are having life-threatening reactions to the exotic fruit.
Worse for kids than adults
For some reason, the effects on young children seem to be much more serious than on adults.
They have trouble breathing and can suffer anaphylactic shock - like people who are allergic to peanuts.
The scientists are now trying to figure out why this is the case.
Many kids love kiwis - they're nearly as popular as apples and bananas.
And if you're not allergic, they are really healthy because of their high vitamin C content.
