At last! Chocolate is good for you
Updated 20 April 2003, 11.46
Chocolate can be good for you, scientists reckon
Quick! Get munching on those Easter eggs!

Scientists have finally decided that chocolate is good for you. Hurray!

Apparently scoffing dark chocolate can help stop blood clots, which can cause nasty illnesses like strokes.

Dark chocolate only

Volunteers had to eat dark, milk or white chocolate and then the scientists tested their blood.

Only dark chocolate will do
Imagine being part of that experiment!

The people who'd eaten the dark chocolate had better properties in their blood which help prevent clotting, the researchers found.

But it does only apply to dark chocolate. White and milk chocolate just don't cut it with the boffins.

Oh well.
