  Cybercafe for world's highest mountain
Updated 16 February 2003, 14.09
Cybercafe
Do you think it's a trek to your local cybercafe?

Well, don't complain - you'd have to climb 5,000 metres to get to a new one being built on Mount Everest.

It's the the world's highest mountain and is in Nepal, Asia.

Schools will use it

Fact File
Mount Everest
It's 8850 metres high
In 2002, a record 54 people reached the summit in one day
The first to climb it were Tenjing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953

The cafe's going to be at base camp where climbers stay before starting the gruelling trek to the summit.

And local schools will be able to use it, too.

Any money it makes will go towards tackling pollution at the camp which can get pretty messy and full of rubbish.

They're still waiting for permission to put in digital satellite equipment.

The satellite will send signals through radio links to the cafe.

It should open in March 2003.
