Add-on screens will make consoles portable
Updated 13 January 2003, 16.58

Gemini screen
Wouldn't it be amazing if you could have your PS2 or Xbox in the car with you on a long, dull journey?

Well, that reality's not far off.

A US company called Gemini Industries has built a set of screens that attach to the Xbox, the PS2 and the GameCube.

The screens are designed to look like part of the console and are powered from the machine.

An adapter can be plugged into the cigarette lighter in a car.

And at home you could play while everyone watched their soaps on TV!

The screens cost between 87 and 118 and are due to go on sale in the US in the spring.
