And from their early research, the experts think the problems are worse than they feared, because the coastal ice is melting.
That might not seem too bad, but the coastal ice acts as a huge barrier in front of the glaciers.
And if that happens, the sea could rise much more quickly than at the moment.
The experts - from Chile and the space agency Nasa - are using top technology to try and do the biggest study of the ice ever.
They've only just started their research, and because there is so much ice it's going to take a long time to work out what all the information means.
