Top quirky websites of 2002 named
Updated 04 January 2003, 11.26
Rocking Cats
The country's top but slightly unusual websites of 2002 have been named by Yahoo.

The sites were chosen by a group of expert surfers in the UK and Ireland who moused and clicked their way through the net.

They judged the sites on how cool, quirky or useful they might be.

And there's an unusual mix in there which shows how much of a variety there is on the net now.

Rock cats

Included in the top 12 are animated kittens singing nu-metal and rock songs as well as a website set up by 13-year-old Barnaby to help other dyslexic people.

There's also one called Middletown which just has loads of photos of towns in the UK and another which allows children to follow the Around Alone Yacht Race.

And the website where you could watch Frank cat get better after an accident won the judges' vote too.

No sign of the likes of Leaky Cauldron or CBBC Newsround Online though! What were they thinking!?
