That's according to a psychologist who has spent eight long years trying to figure out why some people are luckier than others.
He reckons it's all to do with four basic ways of looking at life. To be a lucky person, you have to learn the following lessons:
- Expect good luck to come your way.
- Improve your chances of luck by spotting opportunities and making the most of chances you get.
- Listen to your gut feelings and if you have a hunch about something, follow it!
- Learn to deal with bad luck - imagine how things might have been worse and what you can do to make things better.
Phew! It sounds as if they could be the basis of your New Year's resolutions!
Fancy Luck School?
The man who did the research set up a Luck School to come up with these four lessons in luck.
And he reckons 80 per cent those who have followed his luck plan have been more fortunate already.
