  Nokia unveils gaming mobile
Updated 05 November 2002, 16.33
The Nokia N-Gage mobile game deck
It's a dream come true for gamers: a mobile that doubles as a handheld games console.

Nokia has unveiled plans for the N-Gage which will be out in February 2003.

It will play games supplied on memory cards that plug into a slot on its side.

Run Sega games

Nokia plans to create its own games for it that will also run versions of games already made by companies like Sega who make Sonic the Hedgehog.

It means it'll be competing with handheld games giant Nintendo and the massive Gameboy.

You can already download games onto some phones if you have the right one.

But although the games are getting better they're not as sophisticated as the ones on handheld consoles yet.
