The soft drinks company is reported to be thinking about buying a ticket into space on board the Russian Soyuz space shuttle.

Space prize

If the plan goes ahead the 10 million pound ticket would be given away as a prize in a reality TV show.

A spokesman for Russia's Aviation and Space Agency has said they have not received an official request from Pepsi but would be happy to discuss it.

It's not the first time Pepsi have ventured beyond Earth to promote their product.

In 1996 they persuaded cosmonauts on board the Mir space station to pose with a giant inflatable Pepsi can.

Arch-rivals Coca-Cola responded by placing a Coke drinks machine in Nasa's Endeavour space shuttle.
