Txt reminders for asthmatics
Young asthmatics could soon get txt help and reminders to take their inhalers from a new virtual buddy called Max.

Max also txts you the latest showbiz goss, sport news and horoscopes.

The msgs say things like: "Hav U taken Ur inhaler yet?" and "Yo dude, it's Max reminding u 2 take ur inhaler."

This causes difficulty in breathing
Dust can trigger the airways to tighten too

Doctors thought it would be a good idea because loads of teens often forget to take their inhalers which prevent attacks.

At the same time, more are using mobiles and the net.

The service is not yet in use, but 30 teens took part in a month-long study to find out it would handy. They liked Max so much, some even started to text him back!

And they say it definitely helped them to remember their inhalers.

It also meant they could get medical info quickly, easily and in a language they understood, through their mobiles.
