The round carrot
You might not have thought carrots were an especially inconvenient shape.

Even so, there's a new carrot on the block and it's totally round!

It's about the size of a golf-ball and Waitrose - the supermarket stocking the carrot - says it has a "delicious sweet flavour and a crunchy texture."

A bit like a carrot then...

It was originally developed in France in the 19th century because it apparently grows quickly and stores easily.

The whole thing can be eaten, skin and all, and it's reckoned to be perfect for your lunchbox.

And Waitrose think the rounded carrot will encourage you to eat more veg.
