Fact File
What you can expect to pay
Microsoft Xbox - 199
Nintendo GameCube - 129
Sony PlayStation 2 - 199
But because Microsoft dropped the price of the Xbox last week, Nintendo thought they would create more demand for the GameCube if they lowered its price.

It is now cheaper than both of its main rivals.

Fierce competition

The three world leaders in games consoles are Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony.

They are all in fierce competition with one another to become the world number one.
