Robosoldier of the future?
Robocop may have been just a film character but Robosoldier could one day be a reality.

US scientists are looking into building a mechanical super-fighter which will leave its enemies in the dust.

Robosoldier could be able to heal his own wounds, leap buildings, deflect bullets and even become invisible!

The world-famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is putting millions of pounds into research for the soldier of the future.

Power-packed shoes

They're planning to give him shoes with built-in power packs which release bursts of energy to give added super-strength.

And he could be wearing special clothes which become like a cast if he breaks a "bone".

MIT was the place which developed radar during World War II to warn of incoming aircraft.

But the soldier of the future won't be ready for at least 10 years.
