The massive model, which was more than 10m high, was created in a shopping centre in Stoke-on-Trent as part of Science Week.
The shape of a DNA molecule, called a double helix, is quite familiar, but this is the first time a model this large has been built.
Joint effort
It was unveiled at the Potteries Shopping Centre.
Staffordshire and Cheshire schoolchildren helped to make it, along with celebs from the world of science and art.
And their efforts were rewarded when Guinness World Records announced it is a record-breaker.
It'll be on display for a few days and will then need a new home.
