DVDs have become the fastest selling entertainment product of all time.
In just three years around three million DVD (Digital Versatile Discs) players have been sold in Britain, and this year almost 40m DVDs will be bought.
Halved in price in the last year
It took CDs and videos seven years to sell three million players, but DVD players have sold much more quickly, especially during 2001.
This time last year players were twice as expensive, and since the drop in price around two million have found their way into homes.
