1/8 In February Becky presented her last programme for Newsround. She's now working on the Capital FM breakfast show and still keeps in touch with the Newsround production crew, popping into the office to say hello!
2/8 A new type of yo-yo, the Yo Ball, was banned by the government. They tested the toy and found it could strangle someone so from April companies and shops were told not to sell the toy and would be breaking the law if they did.
3/8 S Club announced they would split at the end of May. They enjoyed loads of hit songs, like Reach for the Stars, Don't Stop Movin' and a hugely successful TV show and film and fans were sad they broke up.
4/8 Top biker Steve Hislop was killed in a helicopter crash in July. He was a British motorcycling legend, and a Newsround Press Packer who interviewed him earlier in the year described him as a "really nice" person.
5/8 Concorde planes landed for good in October after more than 30 years of supersonic air travel. Since a Concorde plane crashed killing 113 people in 2000 not enough people wanted to travel on the fast but expensive flights.
6/8 Microsoft is closed its free, unmoderated chatrooms in October this year. They say they did this to help keep children safer when surfing, and lots of kids' charities agreed it was a good idea.
7/8 Also in October last year's Fame Academy winner David Sneddon announced he wanted to quit his career as a pop star less than a year after he won the TV talent show. He wants to step out of the limelight to concentrate on songwriting.
8/8 In November Christopher Lee said his character, Saruman, wouldn't be appear in the final Lord of the Rings film. Fans were outraged and demanded Saruman's return saying it was a "bad decision".
