/10 It's not just people who are affected, animals are also trying to get out of the way of the flames in California
/10 Houses can't get out of the way, so have to rely on firefighters to put them out in time
/10 Sometimes the flames take hold too quickly, leaving the owners with nothing but ashes
/10 And the fires don't just take one house at a time, sometimes they can wipe out an entire neighbourhood
/10 Firefighters put themselves in the way of a fire, hoping the red flame retardant will keep them safe for long enough
/10 It's not always possible to act in time, meaning the firefighters just have to wait for the fire to come to them
/10 They're also using planes to drop flame retardant onto the flames to try and help control them
/10 There are fears that some of the fires may have been started on purpose
/10 A home that caught fire when embers from a wildfire landed on it, in San Bernadino, California
