Kabul zoo
1/7 Vets have arrived to help Marjan, the war-weary lion of Kabul zoo
2/7 Marjan lost his sight in a grenade blast - it also damaged his teeth and his sense of smell, and he has trouble moving around
3/7 Many animals in the zoo to have suffered as the result of the war - keepers were not paid to look after the animals
4/7 But now help has arrived from World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) for Marjan and the other animals
5/7 The zoo was once very well thought of, with 50 different types of animals living there
6/7 Other animals left at the zoo include monkeys, wolves, rabbits, bears monkeys and birds of prey
7/7 More than $500,000 has been raised to help the the animals get well again and get back on their feet
