Illegal downloading hurts artists

The British music industry reckons it loses more than £200million a year because of illegal downloading.

Last year, in the UK alone, a staggering 1.2 BILLION tracks were downloaded without being paid for.

That takes money away from successful record labels and artists like Beyonce and Lady Gaga, but did you know it hits less famous artists much harder?

Now one record company wants to stop illegal downloading by coming into your school and showing you all the hard work that goes into making music - from the writing to the producing, recording and performing.
