Illegal downloading hurts artists

Did you know the British music industry reckons it loses more than £200m a year because of illegal downloading?

Last year, in the UK alone, a staggering 1.2 billion tracks were downloaded without being paid for.

This takes money away from record labels and singers like Lady Gaga, but it hits less famous artists much harder.

One record company wants to stop illegal downloading by going into schools to show you guys all the hard work that goes into making music - from the writing to the producing, recording and performing.
