Unlucky dog's home hunt after THREE owners return him

Derek the unlucky dog that's been returned to the RSPCA by three different owners

Derek the dog could be one of Britain's unluckiest canines - he's still looking for a new home after being returned to the RSPCA by THREE different owners.

The first new owners couldn't cope because he was a bit too excitable.

Derek was then taken on by the army because of his good nose. But he didn't like getting in and out of vehicles!

When he arrived at his third home, he jumped straight into the garden pond and dried himself on the sofa. Needless to say, he was taken straight back.

Derek has spent more than half his life being cared for by the RSPCA

Staff at West Hatch RSPCA in Somerset have made Derek a special bedroom - because he finds it tough living in kennels.

He's also being taken on trips away from the centre to better prepare him for life in someone's home.

The Staffordshire bull terrier cross collie was handed in to the RSPCA in March 2010 by his homeless owner.
