Olympic stars miss out on London 2012 tickets

Olympic diver Tom Daley missed out on some of his Olympic tickets

More than 250,000 people have missed out on tickets for the London Olympics, including super diver Tom Daley.

Tom tweeted that his mum had only got "1/4 of what she wanted! I hope my family get tickets to watch me!!!!".

More than 1.8 million people applied for the 6.6 million tickets which were on offer.

Disappointed fans are complaining that the ticketing system isn't fair as some people have got seats for more than one event while others haven't got any.

Olympic gold medal winner Bradley Wiggins also missed out on seats to the games. He joked that his "kids going to have to watch dad on the telly!".

The men's 100 metre final was the most popular event with over one million people applying for seats.

There is still hope for anyone looking to drop some mega bucks to get tickets. For a whopping £500,000 fans can buy seats for them and up to nine friends to the opening and closing ceremonies as well as all the athletic events.

Organisers have said that anyone who didn't get tickets this time will have another chance their hands on any tickets which weren't sold later this month.
