X Factors stars are rallying around Cheryl Cole, after reports that she's been dropped as a judge on the American version of the X Factor.

JLS, Diana Vickers and One Direction all gave Cheryl their backing.

It thought that the Girls Aloud singer is now back in the UK, but it's not clear whether she'll return to her old place on the UK X Factor judging team.

JLS star Marvin said: "Everyone wants to see her return to the UK version of the show. It would be amazing."

Cheryl's place on the American show is likely to be taken by ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

It's not clear why she's not going to be a judge, though rumours say Americans couldn't understand her Geordie accent and she hadn't clicked with other judges.

The show doesn't start over there until September.

Diana Vickers, who was mentored by the Girls Aloud singer, was shocked when she found out the news.

She said: "But I don't think she has anything to worry about. Definitely not - she is Cheryl Cole. She was a great mentor, so hopefully she will join the X Factor back here."

So far the star's management have refused to speak about the story.

Even though Cheryl is mega famous here, she isn't as well known in America.

Simon Cowell is launching the hit series for the first time in the US, and had chosen her to be one of the judges.
