Barack Obama waves as he and his wife Michelle meet the Queen.

Barack Obama has said goodbye to the UK with a very posh dinner party for the Queen.

The US president has been visiting as part of a big tour of Europe, and held the dinner to thank the Queen for a big banquet she held on Tuesday.

They were also joined by lots of celebs - including footy superstar David Beckham and author JK Rowling.

Obama and his wife Michelle are set to leave for France on Thursday as they continue their tour.

The Obamas have packed plenty of stuff into their three day visit.

Ricky meets the guys that played ping pong with the President

They met the newly wed Duke and Duchess of Cornwall on Tuesday, played ping pong with David Cameron and even had a barbecue at the prime minister's house!

It's not all been fun and games - the president and David Cameron have had serious political talks and Michelle has visited schools and universities to talk to students.

Very special dinner

Wednesday's farewell dinner was said to be 'intimate', which means small - but we still know there were at least 50 people there!

All the men had to wear bow ties, and the women fancy dresses.

It was held at a big house owned by America in the centre of London.

The very special guests tucked into a very special meal.

They started with lobster ravioli, then Highland beef with crushed Jersey Royals with rosemary and finished with classic pecan pie and brandy ice cream for dessert.
