Garden wallaby caught in Lyme Regis, Dorset

Watch the wallaby in the garden

A wandering wallaby that was spotted hopping about in a garden in Dorset has been caught.

The animal was captured by an off-duty firefighter in Lyme Regis town centre and has been handed over to the RSPCA to be looked after.

It is unclear where the wallaby came from but the RSPCA said a number of them live wild in the UK.

The wallaby had been filmed hopping around a garden on Tuesday morning before it escaped over her fence.

It's now been taken to a sanctuary to live with lots of other wallabies.
