Olympics 2012: Million apply for 100m final tickets

Usain Bolt crosses the line to win the gold medal in the men's 100m at the 12th IAAF World Athletics Championships in 2009

If your family were hoping to get tickets to see the fastest man in the world at next year's Olympics, you might want to cross your fingers.

Olympic bosses are running a lucky dip for the tickets - and they've had more than a million ticket requests for the men's 100m final, which should feature speedy Usain Bolt.

There are only 40,000 seats so there'll be lots of disappointed people.

The results of the ballot for the tickets will be known on 24 June.

About 1.8 million people have applied to watch the UK Olympics, with a total of 20 million ticket applications - there are 6.6 million tickets up for grabs.
