Cliff fall man and dog in RAF helicopter rescue

Video from helicopter as man and dog rescued

A man and his dog have survived a MASSIVE 60m (200ft) fall down a cliff in North Yorkshire.

The pair were airlifted from the bottom of a cliff near Cloughton by an RAF helicopter team.

The 53-year-old man had fallen down the cliff after trying to rescue his dog.

Police said it was "absolutely remarkable" that the man only had broken bones. He's now in hospital where he's recovering from injuries including a broken leg and wrist.

Insp Bruce Prendergast, of North Yorkshire Police, said the "hard work and bravery" of the coastguard and helicopter crew had saved the pair.
