"My uniform is nice, but the only annoying thing is we are expected to wear polo shirts with the school logo on them, but everybody wears shirts without the logo! My secondary school uniform for September is awesome though."
Ella, 11, London, England
"Our school uniform is too strict. I don't see how you can distract people from their learning by wearing patterned socks or skirts higher than the knee. It's ridiculous!"
Millie, 12, Coventry, England
"I'm not happy with my uniform! It's not right for me. I look horrible. Why can't we wear home clothes? I really hate black shoes, that make me look so dumb for school."
Liban, 13, Bristol, England
"I hate my school uniform, it's mostly black and it's really boring and I hate having to wear a school tie."
Heather, 14, Moray, Scotland
"My uniform is OK I guess, but my jumper is a bit dull because it's just grey, and it's easy to get holes in."
Will 12, Gloucester, England
"I love our school uniform, it is red and white!"
Lotti, 11, Lancashire, England
"I don't like trousers"
Ellie, 7, Derbyshire, England
"At my school we have to have our blazers on even in summer, with our ties perfect and top button done up even though it chokes us a bit. We have good school trips though - I'm going on a four day trip to France on the 19th of June with NO SCHOOL UNIFORM!"
Courtney, 11, Northamptonshire, England
"We have a grey blazer with a badge and grey trousers and we can wear short trousers if we want and long grey socks. Only two other boys and I wear shorts even in summer."
Peter, 12, Cambridge, England
"Well, I quite like my school uniform."
Sam, 9, Sussex, England
"I love my school because we get to wear our own clothes and then a jilbab and we have to wear a scarf. We can also wear a jumper if we want to. It's part of our religion to wear a jilbab and to wear a scarf."
Zarah, 10, Lancashire, England
"I think school uniform is stupid we all look the same, we are not in the army! Schools and parents tell us to be creative and be ourselves and we can't with school uniform. I understand if we are singing or going on a field trip, but some uniforms are so uncool and uncomfortable and girls should be allowed to wear trousers too. The short ban is stupid and discriminates against boys, they will be boiling in trousers on hot days!"
Aimee, 12, Northumberland, England
"We don't have a school uniform however we have a really annoying dress code: no leggings, no skirts above the knee or short sleeved tops. It's so annoying as we get sent home to change if we don't wear the right thing!"
Ada, 12, London, England
"I hate my school uniform, I wish we could just wear normal clothes to school. It would be so cool! I am going to suggest this at my school!"
Anya , 11, Durham, England
"My school uniform is a navy jumper for KS4 and light blue for year 7 and 8. I think it's OK but we have to wear a logo polo shirt even though no one can see it, we even have a PE uniform! Everything is really expensive and we are not allowed to wear long sleeved t-shirts under our polo shirts. I think that's unfair because I don't like having my arms uncovered when I don't want to keep my jumper on. Non-school uniform days have been pretty much banned now because it's meant to be too distracting."
Sumina, 14, London, England
"At my school we have to wear a blazer everywhere we go, even in the summer! I don't see why, because all it does is make us hot and sweaty, and it distracts us from lessons!"
Natasha, 12, London, England

"It's true boys are discriminated against in the summer - but girls have to wear skirts all through the winter while you boys have your warm trousers."
Jessica, 10, Kent, England
"Uniform is uncomfortable. In the winter, we're too cold and we're not allowed to wear cardigans and jumpers. In the summer, it's too warm and we're not allowed to take off our blazers."
Hafsah, 14, West Yorkshire, England
"We are not allowed to wear different coloured cardigans or jumpers other than black, green or grey!"
Tallulah, 11, Manchester, England
"I like my school uniform but I don't get why we have to wear bright orange tights!! Can't we just wear red?!"
Sofia, 10, Buckinghamshire, England
"Our uniform is OK. Girls wear skirts with tights or just skirts or blue dresses - you're still allowed to wear green, red and yellow, but no-one wears them. We are allowed to take our jumpers off when it's hot and some boys even wear their blue or white polo shirt like a bikini!"
Amy, 10, London, England
"Our uniform is so stupid. You have to wear a long sleeve shirt, long sleeve jumper, tie, full pants, knee socks, shoes, blue/black hair bobbles and blue/black headbands. Not just that, but for PE and PA, you need even more. That comes to around £300 and that's just for the girls, for the boys it's even worse!"
Erin, 12, Cumbria, England
"I think that school uniform's should be picked by the pupils, not the teachers!"
Sam, 9, Liverpool, England

Izabela, 12, London, England
"We wear a summer dress and the boys wear shorts. I think the boy was right to wear a skirt to keep cool."
Kate, 10, Somerset, England
"I don't like school uniform AT ALL. Our school makes us wear a red jumper, a navy polo shirt, a navy skirt and navy tights. In the summer girls can wear a summer dress (red and white) and boys can wear shorts. But no one likes them. In a school council meeting we talked about getting rid of uniforms but the teachers said no because 'it would increase bullying'. But at my old school there was no school uniform and there was no bullying, either."
Saskia, 11, N. Ireland
"I hate how in the winter we are not allowed to wear socks and tights together. All the girls have to wear skirts and it gets really cold. The people who tell you you can't wear both tights and socks are male teachers with long warm trousers.... grr!"

"Why can't boys wear shorts anymore? It's so not fair!"
Jacob, 10, Bristol, England
"My uniform is nice, but the only annoying thing is that we are expected to wear polo shirts with the school logo on them, when everybody else wears shirts without the logo! My secondary school uniform for September is awesome though."
Ella, 11, London, England

Usayd, 11, London, England
"I hate me blazer, I think it's a waste of time and money. We should just wear a bright coloured uniform."
Faizah, 12, Yorkshire, England
"I hate it when schools tell us we can't dye our hair unnatural colours. We have the weekends, holidays, before school and after school too, which makes up more time than we are actually in school. If you want to dye your hair purple, school shouldn't tell you not to!"

"I'm going to secondary school next year and I have to wear a tie and a blazer. I think that it is actually really smart because we don't wear those kind of things at my school at the moment."
Jeff, 11, Hertfordshire, England
"I hate my school uniform. I think it would be better to wear our own clothes because it shows our personality. I find my school uniform hot in the summer and cold in the winter and I would prefer to wear my own clothes."
Imogen, 10, Kent, England
"We have a new uniform at our school, and the new logo is a bit childish, almost everyone thinks the same but it's too late now because the new jumpers and shirts have gone on sale."

Shar, 12, Luton, England
"I have to wear a big black blazer and a clip on tie. I think it's stupid and we shouldn't have to wear a blazer in the summer because it gets too warm. The clip on tie annoys me and it's also a horrible colour!"
Tyra, 14, Essex, England
"I'm starting secondary school next year and although the school is outstanding... the colours we have to wear are bottle green and silver! You have to wear bottle green blazers AND a bottle green and silver tie!"
Ciara, 11, Berkshire, England
"I don't like having to wear a boiling hot black blazer in the summer and not being allowed to take it off, outside or inside. It makes it so you can't concentrate on your work! I also don't like it how in the winter we're not allowed to wear boots!"
Libby, 11, Yorkshire, England
