Robots sent into Japan's nuclear plant

British robots are going to be used to look around inside the Fukushima nuclear plant.

British robots are being sent into the Fukushima nuclear plant which was damaged in Japan's earthquake and tsunami, because it's too dangerous for humans.

The Talon robot

This is the Talon robot, whose job it is to move through rubble inside the plant and send back radiation readings.

The people controlling the robots can see what's going on through the cameras.

Bobcat diggers

These diggers have been changed so they can be operated by remote control. They can dig, lift, cut and break through walls and doors.

The iRobot Packbot

Thie is called the iRobot Packbot which have already been inside the nuclear plant. It can take radiation samples to find out how dangerous things are.
