Has playing the Nintendo 3DS made you feel sick?

Nintendo 3DS

Some gamers have been complaining online that playing the Nintendo 3DS has given them headaches and made them feel dizzy.

Nintendo have said they've not had any calls from customers about the problem.

But a company spokesman advised players "to find the distance and angle that is most comfortable for them" and recommended taking frequent breaks.

So we want to know - has playing the Nintendo 3DS made YOU, or any of your friends, feel sick? Or have you been stuck to your console for hours without a problem?

Whatever your experience, let us know!

Your comments

"The 3D works very well on the 3DS. I got a tiny headache so I just turned the 3D off - simple!"

Hamish, 14, Edinburgh, Scotland

"I didn't but my friend said she felt dizzy and couldn't see properly. I think that it's because some people's eyes are weaker than others."

Roberta, 12, London, England

"My eyes really really hurt from it."

Conor, 10, London, England

"Well, I don't have one but, reading all these comments, I don't think I want one! One comment said that all his games on the 3DS make him sick apart from one, so maybe it's just some games?"

Aoife, 11, Staffordshire, England

"I don't have one but my brother does and he is fine."

Jessie, 11, Cheshire, England

"If you play for too long you WILL get a headache!"

Tahina, 10, Oxfordshire, England

"Yes it made me feel dizzy and have a headache, then I couldn't play on it any longer."

Courtney, 12, Co. Durham, England

"I do not like it, it makes you dizzy! But it does wear off."

Ama, 7, Suffolk, England

"My 3DS made me sick and dizzy!"

Tom, 11, Manchester, England

"You only get headaches and dizziness if the 3D slider is on full, which it shouldn't be. If you put it on halfway, it doesn't hurt and the 3D effect is almost exactly the same."

Maggie, 12, Leeds, England

"I've tried the Nintendo 3DS before and it didn't make me feel sick!"

Aaron, 13, Lincoln, England

"I bought a DSi XL in December and all the kids in my class said I should save my money for 3D. I searched on the internet and found out that 3D would strain my eyes so I decided not to buy it. Seeing all these kids saying that they get headaches, I realize I did the right thing."

Fatima, 12, Toronto, Canada

"Yes the 3DS has made me feel so sick and dizzy I had to miss a whole day of school!"

Lily, 9, Chester, England

"No! People only get headaches when you play for too long. I played it for half an hour and I didn't feel sick!"

Elin, 10, London, England

"I have one and it made me a tiny bit dizzy for a minute. Then I got up and walked into the door!"

Annie, 10, California, USA

"I don't have dizziness or headaches when I play the 3DS. It probably gives headaches to people who wear glasses."

Kelly, 11, London, England

"I think they are not good for your eyes. If you DO NOT have the 3D glasses that is how you get headaches, you feel dizzy and feel sick after a while."

Ishika, 9, London, England

"I have a 3DS at home and after 30 minutes I got sick, I had a huge headache."

Chloe, 11, Birmingham, England

"I have a 3DS and I have stopped using the 3D icon because the effect made me feel dizzy and when I went on my PC I saw everything in 3D."

Sabrina, 11, London, England

"My friend's brother has one and she says it's annoying and he won't come off it."

Chloe, 9, Durham, England

"I played on my 3DS and I was not sick at all!"

Mussy, 13, Manchester, England

"Yes I don't like it, it is a waste of money and I felt too dizzy."

Jennifer, 10, Aberdeen, Scotland

"On the side, it has a 3D depth slider so you can set it to a comfortable setting of 3D."

Jack, 12, Hertfordshire, England

"After being on it for an hour, I had a horrible headache and was sick!"

Caitlin, 14, London, England

"I felt so dizzy after playing it that I fell on the floor!"

Shanelle, 9, London, England

"My friend has tried one and she didn't have a headache or anything. I think it would probably take a while to get your eyes used to it. If I got a headache from one, I would just turn the 3D off or lower it."

Zoe, 13, Kent, England

"Playing on the 3DS makes me have a headache and feel dizzy, so I only play it for two hours a day and then have a rest!"

Nadim, 8, London, England

"I have the 3DS and it's amazing. But it's true that it can make you feel sick, especially if you look at it from the sides or if two people are looking at it."

Sophia, 12, Liverpool, England

"I have one and it makes me feel sick."

Robert, 11, London, England

"I played on my big sister's and I had to get off it after two minutes because I felt sick."

Aoife, 5, Lancashire, England

"I think that all this talk about the 3DS giving you headaches is rubbish! Video games are perfectly fine and 3D is even more exciting. People just think that they are having headaches."

Kiran, 8, Lincolnshire, England

"Don't play it for any longer than five hours because it gives you a headache!"

Megan, 11, Leicestershire, England

"I haven't suffered from headaches. I think the 3D effect is a feature to enjoy, if used sensibly."

Aaron, 9, Liverpool, England

"I'm not sure because it didn't give me a headache. I think you only get a headache if you're playing for the first time, but then you get used to it after a while."

Sarah, 12, Essex, England

"I've got my own 3DS and it kind of made me feel a little sick!"

Caitlin, 10, Scotland

"I have the 3DS and I think it's great! It doesn't make me dizzy!!! But, just to be sure, I don't go on it for more than 30 minutes. Don't go on 3D mode for more than 2 hours."

Elsie, 10, Devon, England

"I think it's rubbish. At school I'm making a report about it, that's why I'm typing this. My cousin has one and I played on it for 30 minutes and I was sick."

Alex, 10, Leicestershire, England

"I played on my cousin's and it made me sick after a while so I think I'll stick to the normal DSi."

Amber, 10, England

"I have played on one and the graphics are amazing! But when I was playing I had a very bad headache and started to feel a little bit dizzy. Good thing I did not play on it for a long time!"

Rachel, 11, Staffordshire, England

"When I played it at a trial my eyes went all funny and my mum wanted to leave because she got a headache."

"I think it is a revolution in gaming and I hope Nintendo will bring out a 4D DS or another 3D console. I went to an opening night for my 3DS and I love it!"

"Hey I've got a 3DS and I think it's cool, it doesn't give me a headache. "

Robin, 6, Sussex, England

Nicky, 12, Glasgow, Scotland

"I had a headache for about an hour!"

William, 8, Northamptonshire, England

"I got more then an headache playing the 3DS, apparently I got the flu as well!"

Elliott, 14, UK

"My friend was fine and I looked around and everyone else trying it out was fine too. I felt sick though, when playing it on the go."

Jack, 11, Hampshire, England

"After a few turns on it, I felt dizzy and I had a minor headache. However, it went after 10 minutes or so."

Bella, 13, London, England

"I doubt that the new 3DS console will catch on. I don't think they have quite mastered the 3D technology yet."

Rachael, 12, Cheshire, England

"I had a very bad headache and my dad had to call the Nintendo people."

Abbas, 8, UK

"3D technology is crazy! When you see it in the cinemas, it can make you feel sick, so why have Nintendo made something that causes motion sickness? I think that it should be stopped because it could permanently damage your brain. It's not really special that it's in 3D anyway."

India, 12, Surrey, England

"I have one and it's really nice and it's 3D but it makes me dizzy!"

Reason, 8, New Mexico, USA

"I think the 3DS is rubbish! When I looked at it it made me feel sick! I don't think anybody should get it."

"I played mine all afternoon after I got back from school and I felt sick, I could not even get up from bed the next day."

Jordan, 10, London, England

Ella, 11, Scotland

"The 3DS is a bad idea, it damages your eyes. My friend has it and he rarely plays it."

Fatima, 11, Slough, England

"Well, I played on my friend's at her house on Sunday, and it made me go dizzy. I had a massive headache from it."

"I played on my friend's 3DS yesterday and after about 10 minutes I felt quite sick and had a big headache."

Katie, 11, Newcastle, England

"I had a bad headache, but it went after about an hour."

Scott, 12, Kent, England

"I always feel fine when I play on mine."

Patrick, 12, Worcestershire, England

"I have the old DS and I never had any problems. I don't really think this one could make any difference?"

Sophie, 12, Warwickshire, England

"I was playing on it for about a minute and I had a massive headache."

Daisy, 11, Cardiff, Wales

"I never feel sick from mine, but my friends say they have before."

Hannah, 13, Exeter, England

"Well, anyone with any sort of wit would realise that eventually the 3D vision without glasses would give you a headache. It's not rocket science. Technology is just going too far these days."

Alexis, 14, Herts, England

"Turn the 3D off if you've got a bad head."

Jade, 11, Darlington, England

"For those with headaches, you can just turn it off!"

Megan, 12, Colchester, England

"I don't know because I don't have one, but I do know that my normal DS and PSP make me feel terrible!"
