Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles has set a new world record for the longest show ever!

Chris and his on-air sidekick Dave Vitty, also known as Comedy Dave, broke Radio 1's previous 37-hour record for the longest show at 7.30pm on Thursday.

But the pair carried on until 10.30am on Friday to set a new world record for a team music radio show by staying on air for a snooze-busting 52 hours!

They started broadcasting non-stop at 6.30am on 16 March and have raised more than £2 million for Comic Relief.

On Friday morning, Chris said it had been "a very very ridiculous thing" to do, but also "very very worthwhile".

Before handing over to Fearne Cotton at 10.30am, he thanked everyone who had made the show possible and all the listeners who supported them.

"Thanks very much for all your amazing generosity," he said. "I am now going to sleep for two whole weeks."
