Nasa space shuttle Discovery makes last Earth landing

The NASA space shuttle Discovery has returned to Earth from the International Space Station for the last time.

Discovery is the most flown spaceship, having completed 39 missions and 5,830 orbits of Earth. In total, it's spent 365 days in space!

After landing at the Kennedy Space Centre in Cape Canaveral, Florida, the shuttle will now be kept in a museum.

There are just two more flights for Nasa's other shuttles, Endeavour and Atlantis, before the fleet is retired for good.

From now on, American astronauts will have to travel to the International Space Station on Russian Soyuz Rockets until Nasa can build a new fleet.
