Party over for Guitar Hero as the video game is axed

A still from one of the Guitar Hero games

It's the video game that allowed even the most musically-challenged to have a taste of life as a rock star, but the party's over for Guitar Hero.

The game, which is made by Activision Blizzard, has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide.

But Activision says it's not making much money from it because they have to spend loads on the music rights.

It also reckons that music-themed video games aren't as popular as they used to be, so it's game over for Guitar Hero.
